Edinburgh Fringe: Ria Parry On Rosie And Hugh’s Great Big Adventure

Director and co-producer Ria Parry joins us to tell us about her show, Rosie and Hugh’s Great Big Adventure.

Hi! First things first, how are you?

All good thanks, looking forward to the festival.

In your own words, can you describe for us what your show is about?

It’s a musical for 3-8 year olds and their families based on the songs of Nick Cope from CBeebies. It’s about a little girl called Rosie and her best friend Hugh the Hedgehog who go on an adventure together.

And if you were to condense that into three words, what would they be?

Nick Cope songs!

What has preparation for the Fringe looked like for you so far?

Meeting amazing actor-musicians, booking accommodation, fundraising, and listening to Nick’s fabulous music.

What do you want audiences to take away from seeing your show?

We want them to have fun, to laugh and sing, and to think about friendship and hope.

Edinburgh Fringe is certainly an incredibly busy event, what are you most looking forward to doing whilst there?

Seeing great shows. Walking lots. Bringing my children to the festival.

Where can people catch your show this summer?

Pleasance Courtyard, 12pm daily.

And where can people follow your work?

Finally, what would be your dream venue or theatre to perform at?

My show Pied Piper (co-directed with Conrad Murray) was recently at the Queen Elizabeth Hall which which was an epic space to play.
