Edinburgh Fringe: K. Lorrel Manning Talks Lost…Found

K. Lorrel Manning is an award-winning writer/director, actor, and musician who works in both film and theatre. He joins us on Close-Up Culture to tell us more about his show, Lost…Found.

Hi! First things first, how are you?

Great.

In your own words, can you describe for us what your show is about?

One person ’ s story of trauma recovery and personal discovery through music, God and the characters you meet along the way.

And if you were to condense that into three words, what would they be?

Rock. God. Love.

What has preparation for the Fringe looked like for you so far?

Refining the script to fit in the 1 hour slot.

What do you want audiences to take away from seeing your show?

We hope they leave reading to embrace their own personal freedoms.

How did you come up with the concept of your performance?

The Barrow Group was putting together a program of “Restorative Stories” coming out of the pandemic. Lorrel was invited to write something. As he walked home that day, it hit him that this story was “restorative ” and he could write it!

Edinburgh Fringe is certainly an incredibly busy event, what are you most looking forward to doing whilst there?

Artists — the People — local and beyond. And the energy of creativity everywhere!

Where can people catch your show this summer?

Assembly’s ROXY Outside. Everyday at 13:30 — except 8/13 & 8/20.

And where can people follow your work?

Finally, what would be your dream venue or theatre to perform at?

NYC: Lincoln Center | London: The Windom Also — colleges around the world.
