What was your trigger to make Pretty Girl Complex?
I was creating music that truly resonated with me at the time. I knew I wanted to create a project that showed my audience to embrace the complexities of contemporary womanhood. It all came together at the end and showed my most authentic self and where I am at in life right now.
What was the creative process like to put this EP together?
I really wanted to explore different styles of music to find my sound. If we created an R&B track one day, I wanted the next song to have a house vibe. I viewed this project as part of my overall discography and considered how I wanted it to come across in it’s entirety. Lyrically, my goal was to create songs that make people feel good—something a little sexy and playful!

Was there a song that was particularly challenging or rewarding to put together?
“Baddies” was especially rewarding for me because it featured my good friend and talented artist, Paula DeAnda. I grew up singing her songs in my room when I was about 16, so having her as my first feature felt like coming full circle. It was a truly organic and authentic collaboration, with real friends just killing it and living their best lives in Cali haha 🙂
What has the response to Pretty Complex Girl been like so far?
It’s been amazing! Everyone seems to have a different favorite track, which tells me I’ve created a well-rounded project. Each song shows a different side of me, allowing people to see me as a more versatile and well-rounded artist.

How do you reflect on your experiences so far in the music industry?
To be honest, this is one of the most challenging industries to navigate. It’s been extremely difficult, filled with deceit, pressure, stress, hard work, hustle, and sacrifice. Throughout this journey, I’ve learned a lot, made mistakes, and adjusted along the way. Despite the challenges, I’ve remained committed because of my love for music.
What is next for you?
My main focus is to continue creating more music and evolving as an artist, simply letting the journey unfold organically. “Pretty Girl Complex” marks just the beginning of my musical journey.
