Your podcast For The Girls is a resounding success. What led you to podcasting and to create this show?

Thank you! I started creating content back in college in 2015, originally as a fashion blogger. But I think my personality always shined through more than my outfits, I was always talking to the camera and building an audience that resonated more with what I was saying rather than what I was wearing. I gave advice and shared a lot of realness with my audience, so my content began to transition into deeper things like mindset and confidence. From tons of girls wanting to hear more than just quick social media clips, the podcast was a very natural next step to deliver more for them, and so For The Girls was born. It was all a seamless transition, and just simply felt like my true calling and natural gift!

It’s been said a million times but the podcast space is incredibly crowded. Why do you think For The Girls has stood out from the crowd and connected with so many people?

I think not niching down has been one of the most standout things about the show. I cover everything from dating and relationships, to entrepreneurship and business, to health and wellness, confidence and self esteem boosting, and a variety of guest interviews from all different backgrounds like fashion, skin care, spirituality and more. When I say For The Girls, I really mean for ALL the girls in some regard. Not everyone will resonate with every episode, but the ones that do pertain to their life are going to have them digging deep. Each episode is super real and honest, so my goal is for listeners to be able to take the advice and implement it in their lives, and actually see the changes from it.

What’s your typical process for recording a podcast? Do you have any must-haves for recording days?

The process is actually longer than people think, but I try to simplify it as much as possible: a prep day, a recording day, and an editing/finalizing day. I’m more old school with podcasting, nowadays it’s all about the visual but I prefer to keep mine audio-only (with the exception of guest episodes where I upload the video recording to YouTube). Girls wanting to start podcasts aren’t even doing it because they think they can’t afford it; they see the fancy set ups and professional studios and get intimidated. A good microphone, a good set of headphones, and a comfy pair of pajamas is all you need to record, and I think my show is proof of that.

What has been the most rewarding part of hosting the podcast?

Getting DMs from listeners telling me how certain episodes or things I said helped them!

When they send me messages about how they were considering taking their toxic ex back, but listened to an episode about healing and moving on, and had an awakening, that’s my biggest motivator to keep going.

And the most challenging?

CREATIVE BLOCKS! This is such a real thing, like when authors talk about having writer’s block. I don’t like to plan out episodes too far in advance because I prefer to talk about what’s on my mind that week. But I also like to make each week completely different so nothing is repetitive back to back, and sometimes I just don’t have that many topics that I resonate with at the moment. I’ll sit and stare at the screen on my prep day for hours writing and deleting notes because I never want to talk about something “just” to put it out there, I want to speak from the heart… so those days are definitely challenging to overcome.

Who would be your dream guest for the show?

I like to dream big, so I’d have to say Kris Jenner. She’s 1 of 1, there’s simply no one like her.

Is there anyone out there – in the podcasting world or outside – that you draw inspiration from?

I try not to because that’s when the line gets blurry between inspiration and copying, so I like to draw inspiration from myself over the years. Sometimes I find a video of something quick I said back in 2021 that I could create a whole episode around now, or I reflect on things I was talking about manifesting back in 2019 that are currently unfolding for me now and I like to create the full circle moment for listeners. I think it keeps my content super consistent!

What are your hopes and ambitions for the podcast in the future?

My main priority right now is bringing on the most iconic women, so I have some pretty exciting guests coming up! I can’t announce them just yet, but you’ll definitely want to stay tuned to find out who they are.
