Fitness model Paola Porraz joins us on Close-Up Culture to talk about her gym journey, finding consistency, creating content, and much more.
Hi Paola, welcome to Close-Up Culture. What first motivated your to get in the gym?
I’ve always been used to a healthy lifestyle and before training at the gym I used to play tennis for several years. Now that I don’t train competitively, I decided to go to the gym to maintain my athletic figure.
Lots of people struggle to get into the gym and build it into their routine. What are your memories of first going to the gym and finding that consistency?
When I first started going to the gym, I really struggled to stay consistent. I would sporadically train throughout the month or would go weeks without working out. After a while, I made up my mind that in order to actually see results I would have to train consistently even if I did not want to.
How do you stay motivated?
Truth be told, you can’t always stay or be motivated. Sometimes I workout even if I’m not feeling it. One saying that I have in mind every time that I go to the gym is that there is progress everyday, even if you don’t see it. Small progress is still progress.
What do you enjoy about creating content about your fitness journey?
I think it’s fun going through the entire routine of getting ready, dressing cute, having your equipment packed, driving to the gym while blaring music , and lastly actually being there. Taking pictures and recording videos is very satisfying to me, even before taking the content seriously, I still took gym pumps all the time.
What has working out brought to your life?
Working out has brought me to have a better physique, lower- stress levels , friends, and work opportunities!
What are your hopes and dreams for the future?
I would love to further my fitness goals , but besides the gym I want to become a dentist and open up my clinic. Another dream of mine is to be able to travel around the world and to also expand on my investments and obtain real estate properties.
