Influencer Aurelie Dupont joins us on Close-Up Culture to discuss her love of fashion, creating content, trips to Gambia, and much more.
Can you tell us about your background and what inspired your interest in fashion?
I am 18 years old now, and I have always been a creative person who loves to do and create things. My interest in fashion began at a young age when I enjoyed dressing up as a princess, but over the years, I discovered that I really enjoyed dressing people up and giving them makeovers. I even dress up my parents when we go out of the house sometimes! Throughout the day, I can wear up to six different outfits. I was never a big fan of school, but I loved dance classes and other creative classes. I studied dance for five years and then last year, my parents and I moved from Belgium to France. I love it here because I can truly be myself.
What is your greatest challenge as an influencer?
I think my greatest challenge as an influencer is to stay creative every day and give my followers a peek into my life, while also trying out new things such as product testing, finding new fashion hacks or engaging in fun activities. It’s important to constantly come up with fresh content to keep your audience engaged and interested.
What do you enjoy most about creating content and connecting with your followers?
What I enjoy most about creating content and connecting with my followers is the opportunity to express my creativity. Whether it’s through fashion, drawing, or other forms of artistic expression, I always strive to make the most of my creativity. When creating content, I always try to stay true to myself, and I think that’s what makes it enjoyable for my followers. I believe that my followers are interested in my authentic self, and I hope to inspire them to be themselves and pursue their passions through my content.
What has been your favourite experience as an influencer?
As an influencer, I love everything I do and every brand I work with because I only collaborate with those that align with my personal values and style. I always try to seize every opportunity that comes my way and put in 100% effort. Every day brings a new experience, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that I have as an influencer.
Where is your favourite place in the world?
I know the answer to this question immediately, without hesitation. My favorite place in the world is definitely Gambia. This was the best vacation I’ve ever had because I had no expectations when I went there. It was a part of the world that I had never seen in person before, and it surprised me in a way that I didn’t anticipate.
Despite the fact that the people in Gambia have very little, they are still incredibly happy with what they have. This had a profound effect on me and gave me a new perspective on life. It made me realize how important it is to be grateful for what you have every day and to make the most of each day.
What are your hopes and ambitions for the future?
My hope and ambition for the future is to continue growing as a person every day. When I moved to France, my life changed completely within a few months, but I am grateful for the opportunity to have opened up so much as a person. I have been dancing for 14 years now, and through dance, I strive to express my true self and forget about the world for a moment. I don’t know what the future holds, but for now, I am happy with everything I am doing, and I am open to whatever opportunities come my way in the future.
