Activist, author and model Elizabeth Pipko joins us on Close-Up Culture to speak about being the face of NOÄ Jewelry’s new campaign, La Mer.

You are the face of NOÄ Jewelry’s new campaign. What did this opportunity mean to you?
I think that with antisemitism skyrocketing to the point where young people are reaching out to me asking if they should hide their Jewish identities, to be able to work not only with a Jewish-owned brand, but one that proudly displays that in their products was incredibly special and couldn’t have come at a better time.
What was your collaboration like on the shoot with photographer Sylvain Von K?
Sylvain is absolutely incredible! I’ve actually worked with him once before. He’s the kind of photographer that you want to work with because you know that not only will the final imagery be stunning, but you’ll have so much fun in the process of creating!
Can you tell us about the collection and why it resonated with you?
The collection is obviously stunning. As someone who actually doesn’t wear a lot of jewelry, NOÄ Jewelry provides people with the opportunity to choose pieces which are simple and show-stopping all on their own. They’re also super affordable! This new LA MER collection especially taps into all of that, while also being incredibly glamorous and lush.
What impact do you hope the campaign and the collection has?
In general most campaigns that I’ve done or that you see around you are not meant to have much of an impact, but to simply sell products. This one was obviously different because apart from the new collection, I got to also help unveil a new Star of David necklace the brand was releasing. Something incredibly necessary and meaningful during a time when people are trying to decide whether they can continue to be openly and proudly Jewish.
As well as modeling, you are an author and media personality. What else have you been up to lately?
My days are usually filled with absolute craziness but on top of the work you mentioned I also run a digital Holocaust museum, am working on my next book, and have some really exciting other secret projects in the works so it’s certainly a busy but fun time!
What are your hopes and ambitions for 2024?
Honestly, to just be happy and grateful every single day. Something I’m still working on.
