Singer-songwriter Brooke Law joins us on Close-Up Culture to chat about her upcoming single, Busy On The Weekend.
What was the trigger to write your new single, Busy On The Weekend?
I’d realised I felt the pressure to be in a relationship and be loved by someone else. I was being hard on myself and really I just needed some time on my own to grow.
The single will be released on Valentine’s Day. What do you hope listeners takeaway from the song?
I hope people feel motivated to love themselves, enjoy their own company and understand the importance of self worth.
Can you tell us about the song of Busy On The Weekend and what went into it?
My friend had made a really cool beat and bass line and it was exactly what I needed to write what I’d been thinking about.
Can you tell us about your background and what led you to the music industry?
I’ve always loved singing, I used to sing the nursery rhymes in opera and make up little songs since I was 4. Singing and writing is what makes me most happy so I try to play as many gigs as possible and write songs forever.
2022 was a huge year for you. What would you love to achieve in 2023?
I’d love to play more festivals in 2023 and be able to travel with my music and reach more people.
