Bryson Robinson is an award-winning young actor who has a recurring role on the popular Brat series, Mani. Close-up Culture’s James Prestridge caught up with the Los Angeles-based star to chat about his role on the show, meeting fans, working on a feature film, and more.
Q: You’ve been part of the popular Brat series, ‘Mani’, for a couple of years now. How special has it been to be involved in this project and work with this team?
A: Working on Brat is amazing! Mani is such a great show. The cast and crew has become a second family to me!
Q: What has been your favourite thing about playing Chris and growing with the character over the course of 28 episodes?
A: I love being able to perform and have my character evolve throughout the seasons. We have so much fun on set filming!
Q: The show has a big and passionate audience. What does it mean to have that support? Have you had any fun fan interactions to tell us about?
A: I love Mani and Brat fans! They are the best! It’s so cool to be hanging out with friends at a theme park and meet fans that watch the show. It’s always fun to take pics with them. I was on vacation at Disney World in Florida and met so many fans that watch the show.
Q: You’ve won a Young Entertainer Award and a Young Artist Award for the role. What do you love about acting and this profession?
A: I have been very honoured to be recognised by my peers and awards committees for my performance on Mani. I love being a storyteller and getting to create a character, especially in an ongoing series.
Q: You also have a role coming up in Jonny Comebacks’ comedy, ‘Donny’s Party’. What can you tell us about the role and your time on set?
A: This feature film, Donny’s Party, is going to be epic. I can’t wait for everyone to see it! It stars Steele Stebbins as Donny. Everyone on the cast and crew were awesome to work with. My character is very comedic. Again, I can’t wait for everyone to watch!
Q: How do you hope to grow as a performer in the coming years? What type of projects would you like to take on?
A: I would love to be on a Hulu Series like Pen15! A Netflix series as well as feature films. I am a very versatile performer and I’m always up for a challenge.
